ONL Bureau : The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has sealed the luxurious residence of Archana Nag, the prime accused in the sensational sextortion racket that rocked Odisha in recent years.
The property, located in Bhubaneswar and valued at ₹3.64 crore, was provisionally attached by the agency in January 2023 under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
Nag was arrested in 2022 following allegations of blackmail, extortion, and exploitation involving influential individuals. The ED suspects that the sealed property was acquired using proceeds from the alleged criminal activities. The sealing of the house marks a significant escalation in the agency’s probe, which aims to trace and recover assets linked to the racket.
Sources indicate that the ED is also examining financial transactions, digital evidence, and links to other individuals potentially involved in the network. The case has drawn widespread attention due to its high-profile nature and the involvement of political and business figures.
The ED’s action underscores its commitment to cracking down on organized financial crimes and ensuring that illegally acquired assets are brought under legal scrutiny.
